What is Open Enrollment?

Open Enrollment is the period each year when you can sign up for, change, or waive your employer-sponsored benefits.

Most employers hold Open Enrollment once a year, typically in the fall for benefits that start January 1. Your employer will notify you of your specific enrollment window. During this time you can:

- Enroll in the health, dental, vision, life insurance, and other benefits you're eligible for
- Change your current plan elections
- Add or remove dependents
- Set or change your FSA or HSA contributions
- Waive coverage you no longer need

Nayya already knows what you're eligible for, so your recommendations will only reflect the options available to you.

Outside of Open Enrollment, you generally can't make changes to your benefits unless you experience a Qualifying Life Event (QLE) such as getting married, having a child, or losing coverage through another source. Not sure what a QLE is? Contact your HR team for more detailed information.

If your employer uses Nayya, we'll guide you through your options during Open Enrollment and recommend the plans that best fit your health and financial situation.
