An Explanation of Benefits, or EOB, is a document from your insurance carrier that summarizes how a medical claim was processed. It's not a bill. It's a record of what happened.
Your EOB will show you the date and type of service, what your provider billed, what your insurance paid, and what you may owe as your share of the cost. Your carrier will send your EOB by mail, email, or through their online member portal, usually within a few weeks of receiving a claim from your provider.
Your EOB is one of the most useful tools for understanding your benefits in action. It's also the best starting point if you receive a Nayya Claims notification and want to verify the service that was flagged.
For questions about anything on your EOB, contact your insurance carrier directly. They can walk you through the details and help you understand your coverage.
