If you're turning 65 or already enrolled in Medicare, here's what that means for your HSA eligibility.
In general, employees over 65 can keep enrolling in employer benefits and contributing to an HSA as long as they're not enrolled in Medicare and not receiving Social Security. Once you're enrolled in Medicare, you can no longer contribute to an HSA. This is a rule set by the IRS, not by Nayya or your employer.
Nayya's system is set up so that it won't allow you to be enrolled in both Medicare and an HSA at the same time through your recommendations. If you believe you're eligible for both, double check directly with your employer or HR team. If it turns out you are eligible, you can enroll through your BenAdmin directly.
Because eligibility depends on your specific Medicare and Social Security status, your employer should have the most accurate answer for your individual situation.
